Enjoy a modern comfortable, warm, and expansive living space during your adventures in the UP. A welcoming space with an ample kitchenette with sitting area, 1 bedroom with a King bed making a comfortable space for a couple or small family to enjoy. Ample room for a group to enjoy some quality time together catching up on life or board games. A short walk to the beach for a swim in the summer, or Ice Fishing in the winter. Ample on premise parking for your snowmobile trailers or other outdoor entertainment.
Unit consists of 2 rooms, 1 bedroom, bath, and a small kitchenette with living area. Approximately 600 square feet worth of space to spread out and make yourselves comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with flat ware and glasses for meals, mini refrigerator and kitchen sink for clean up. Bathroom has ample room for a pair to get ready with an oversized vanity sinks, as well as in suite washer/dryer (coming Q1 2027) for those longer stays.
Because we live on premise we can be available for any questions or help you may need. We have deep resources both on premise and in the community for if you need help with something. We have done our best to provide a place you can be as autonomous as you want but certainly can assist as needed.

This unit is on the second level. It is accessed via the structures original set of stairs off of the lobby area. These stairs are steeper than modern and can be a challenge for those with mobility challenges.
This portion of the property is NOT wheelchair accessible.
Pets are not welcome. Service dogs are, please contact us ahead of time.

Origin of Hamar
The Hamar family name is deeply tied to Chassell’s logging history. Edward Hamar served as the general manager of the Worcester Lumber Company, building a historic local home in 1903 (our neighbors to the south, once known as the Hamar House BnB), and descendants like Doug Hamar and local historian Kenneth Hamar have shaped community landmarks and archives

While the unit is listed for 2 adults, the unit has ample couch space for an extra kid. Just give us a heads up and we’ll add additional blankets and pillows to the space.
How do I enter the unit

This unit is entered via our lobby entry and through a private, locked doorway. Beyond the doorway, you’ll find a set of stairs to climb up into the unit.
Will the space be dead silent?

We’re sorry but no. Even with all the efforts we have taken to dampen the sounds. The highway does provide for most of the noise, but the bulk of the noise is during daytime hours with nominal at night. There are other guests and residents that you may also here slightly, but it would be in the form of light footsteps, typically.

Because we have a large lobby area, we welcome guests who may need to drop their items off prior to check in time. If available, we can give you early access to the unit, but in case not, there is space to wait.
